Discover the art of expanding your enterprise within the walls of Bury Library

A new series of workshops is set to take place at Bury Library, offering assistance to local individuals looking to start or expand their own businesses.

Beginning later in January, four workshops will cover topics such as market research, business planning, intellectual property, registration, and more.

Industry experts will be available to help participants develop a plan for their next steps and provide ongoing support at no cost.

The Build a Business sessions are as follows:

  • Know your market25th January (10am-1pm). Gain insight into your customers, their spending habits, and why they choose certain products or services. Learn how to conduct market research to increase sales.
  • Intellectual property1st February (10am-1pm). Protect your business, products, website, and brand from potential copycats and ensure you do not infringe on others’ rights.
  • Business Basics – 8th February (10am-1pm). Led by Wendy Breakell, an esteemed entrepreneur and one of the top 50 business advisors in the North West. This workshop covers the essential foundations of starting and running a successful enterprise, including legal structures, costs, and cashflow.
  • Marketing15th February (10am-1pm). Presented by Rachel Craig and Karen Macwee from Ruche Marketing, this workshop focuses on developing an effective marketing strategy, planning campaigns, building a consistent brand, creating compelling social media content, and more.

In addition to the workshops, ongoing support is available from your Enterprise Officer, access to a £5 million collection of UK and global business databases (including market research and company and financial information), and support from the BIPC Manchester.
