According to the latest NHS figures, the region’s hospital death toll is now 5770. Two more people died at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and at Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust last week.
The latest data showed that the lowest number of coronavirus deaths in almost six months was recorded on Sunday for the UK. But the doctors warned that new variants of coronavirus are spreading in the UK. People are warned especially for the South African variant that the vaccine has a lower effect on it.213 cases of South African variant were recorded in the UK.
Two South African variants were reported in Bolton last week. A spokesperson for Bolton Council’s Public Health team talked on a new variant said: “We have been notified of two cases, which aren’t believed to be linked. We are working with Public Health England and NHS Test and Trace.”
