After The Death Of A Baby In Heywood, A Murder Inquiry Was Launched
A two-week-old baby girl died tragically in Heywood on Monday 11 January. A 24-year old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
GMP officers got a report from the hospital on Friday 8 January 2021 around 6.30 pm that a two-week-old baby was in the hospital suspiciously. On 11 January, the baby sadly passed away despite medical treatment and all effort.
A murder investigation was launched for the death of the baby and the investigation is ongoing. For the next days, a scene will be examined in Heywood.
Detective Chief Inspector Carl Jones, of GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “This is a desperately sad incident where a baby girl has lost her life and we are doing what we can to support her loved ones at this incredibly difficult time. This is a heartbreaking time and we ask the public to refrain from speculation and respect the family’s privacy at this time.”
