Identity of Café Crescent’s operator unveiled

Situated on Le Mans Crescent, the appropriately named Café Crescent will be run by David Bellis, who also manages the Turton Tower Woodland Café. This charming café will offer a delightful selection of top-notch snacks, meals, ice creams, hot and cold drinks, cakes, and confectionery, all at an affordable price.

The menus will be carefully crafted to cater to the entire community, with a focus on sourcing ingredients from local Bolton suppliers.

The food will be freshly cooked and prepared on-site, with options available for vegetarians, vegans, gluten-free, dairy-free, and those with dietary intolerances.

Lunchtime will feature a range of high-quality sandwiches, paninis, jacket potatoes, soups, salads, and a daily hot meal.

A variety of homemade desserts and pastries will be available throughout the day. Additionally, toast, teacakes, scones, fresh fruit, cookies, flapjack bars, chocolate, and crisps will also be on offer.

Indulge in a traditional afternoon tea, complete with finger sandwiches, scones accompanied by jam and cream, and a choice of cake or pastry.

All of this can be enjoyed with a selection of teas, fairtrade filter coffee, soft drinks, juices, and daily specials.

For those looking for a sustainable option, a branded reusable drinks bottle will be available for purchase, with a complimentary tap water refill service.

Café Crescent aims to provide a truly special experience, transporting customers to a bygone era of opulence and sophistication, while still embracing the conveniences of modern life.

Cllr Nadeem Ayub, Bolton Council’s Executive Cabinet Member for Culture, commented:

“The addition of a brand-new café in the town centre perfectly complements the refurbished library.

“Not only will it offer a menu sourced from local suppliers, but it will also provide a welcoming meeting place for residents and visitors, set within a remarkable cultural setting.

“It’s the ideal spot to unwind after exploring the new library, the beloved museum and aquarium, or attending a workshop in the new Build A Business area.”

The renovation of Central Library has been funded by the government’s Towns Fund, which has also supported the expansion of Bolton Market’s food hall, the creation of Elizabeth Park, significant improvements to Ashburner Street, and the ongoing transformation of the Wellsprings office building into an innovation hub for start-up businesses.

Along with the development of Moor Lane, this part of Bolton is undergoing a complete revitalization as part of the council’s broader plan to regenerate the town centre, making it a vibrant and appealing place to live, work, and visit.
