Serious Collision In Stockport Left 27-Year-Old Man In Critical Condition

Officers from GMP are appealing for witnesses after a serious RTC in Stockport. The incident left a 27-year-old man in critical condition in hospital.

Police were called to Wellington Road North in Stockport with a report of a collision yesterday. Initial enquiries established that a pedestrian was injured after a car failed to stop and drove off southbound.

The 27-year-old injured man was taken to the hospital immediately. He is still in critical condition with serious head injuries.

Sergeant Neil Pennington, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “A man is in hospital with very serious injuries. We need to find out exactly how this collision occurred and who was involved.”

“We are working to identify the driver of the car that failed to stop. However, we do advise the person driving that car to make contact with the police so we can properly ascertain the circumstances of this serious incident.”

“We are also asking for anyone who may have seen the incident or anyone who has information or dashcam footage, particularly any sightings of a black Mercedes A-Class driving dangerously in the area prior to the collision, to contact police.”
