Covid forces closure of three Primary School in Greater Manchester

Armitage CE Primary, Chesham Primary and Bare Trees Primary all shut down

Three primary schools in Greater Manchester must close because of a high amount of COVID cases.

The schools affected include Armitage CE Primary in Ardwick, Chesham Primary in Bury, and Bare Trees Primary in Oldham.

A Year Five student at Chesham tested positive for COVID recently.

The reason that school had to shut down is that bubbles were compromised during last week’s flooding.

That means 17 members of staff now need to isolate.

For Bare Trees, the amount of positive cases has gone up in the catering department forcing the closure.

Therefore self-isolation guidelines need to be followed.

The nursery section of the school will remain open.

Over the summer many parents were concerned about school’s reopening in Greater Manchester.

A new payment plan by the Chancellor has been offered to people in Greater Manchester.

This region has been one of the hardest-hit areas in terms of COVID cases. (JSL)
