United remains “committed” to Solskjaer as Manager

Executive Board Member gives vote of confidence

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seems to have the support of the people who matter most as far as his job is concerned.

The club’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is publicly backing Solskjaer as United boss.

Woodward says: “On the pitch, while there is still hard work ahead to achieve greater consistency, we remain absolutely committed to the positive path we are on under Ole as the team continues to develop.”

Before United’s match with Everton, there were reports Solskjaer may lose his job if they lost.

Despite trailing the game after 19 minutes, United stormed back to win 3-1.

That victory came after two dismal performances in the Champions League and Premier League.

It began with a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal.

Then came a 2-1 defeat to Istanbul Basaksehir in the Champions League.

Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho as manager in December 2018.

In 102 matches in charge the 47-year-old has won just over 50% of his games with 56 wins and 25 defeats.

Currently, his team is in 14th place in the Premier League with 10 points from seven fixtures.

That’s only seven points clear of the relegation zone.

United’s next action is Saturday, November 21 when they host West Bromwich Albion at 8 pm. (JSL)
