The University of Manchester scoops prestigious award at yearly Bionow Awards

The University of Manchester has emerged victorious in the Partnership and Collaboration category at the esteemed annual Bionow Awards 2023.

A standout event in the life sciences calendar, the awards ceremony took place at the Concorde Conference Centre on 7th March, with 339 guests coming together for an evening of celebration and success.

Judges commended the University for its Partnership & Collaboration Award, recognising their fruitful 15-year partnership with Boots in skin health and ageing research. This collaboration has led to groundbreaking discoveries in skin biology being translated into innovative commercial products through a rigorous clinical screening programme.

Not only has this partnership attracted millions of pounds in investment to the North-West bioscience sector, but it has also resulted in over 100 scientific publications, 10 patents, and new job opportunities.

Expressing gratitude for the award, Professor Mike Sherratt remarked, “We are truly honoured to receive this prestigious accolade from BioNow. Our collaboration with Boots is founded on a mutual goal of uncovering fresh insights into skin biology and using this knowledge to address accumulated damage.”
