Heaton Park Primary School winners of recycled art competition

Heaton Park Primary School’s Eco Warriors are the winners of Bury’s #InTheLoop recycling competition.

Schools from across the borough entered their works of art, made from recyclable materials, for the chance to win a £100 gift voucher.

While the competition was high, Heaton Park won with 1543 votes!

The competition was part of the campaign as well as the installation of 15 multi-use litter bins with Burrs Country Park as part of a recycling on-the-go initiative that tackles pollution along our waterways.

Councillor Alan Quinn, Cabinet Member for Environment, Climate Change and Operations, said “I was delighted to visit Heaton Park Primary School and congratulate the children on winning for their greenhouse design. It is amazing to see young people so passionate and eager to fight against climate change. Young people are our best ambassadors for climate action, and I very much look forward to seeing more great things from Heaton Park’s Eco Warriors.”
