Serious Collision In Salford

Police are gathering any information after a woman was injured seriously in a collision in the Lower Kersal area of Salford yesterday.

On Saturday, police officers were called to the scene around 5.50 pm for the report of the collision. A black Ford Fiesta hit a pedestrian at the junction of Kingsley Avenue and Cheadle Avenue.

The pedestrian who is 18 years olds was injured seriously and was taken to the hospital immediately. She is still at the hospital for her serious head injuries.

An 18-year-old man who is the driver of Ford Fiesta was arrested for suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and possession of cannabis. He is in custody.

Police officers are appealing any information or dashcam footage of the collision for the investigation.

Police Constable Simon Venguedasalon, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the victim as she remains in hospital for treatment to what are serious head injuries and we wish her well with her recovery.”
