Stockport Police Seek Witnesses After Fatal Pedestrian Collision

In Stockport, a fatal incident occurred last night as a car collided with a pedestrian on Town Street, close to Hollins Lane, around 5:10 pm. The pedestrian, a 70-year-old man, sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, he tragically passed away.

Following the collision, the driver of the vehicle, a 54-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. However, he has been released pending further investigation.

Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or provided aid, and those who might possess CCTV or dashcam footage, to come forward and aid in their inquiries.
