Delightful Elation Amongst Students as Laptops Gracefully Bestowed

Pupils at a school in Trafford are absolutely delighted after receiving a fantastic donation of 10 laptops from local housing association L&Q and Trafford Council.

The generous gift was presented to students at Broadoak High School in Partington during a recent visit by representatives from L&Q and Trafford Council.

Headteacher John Knowles expressed his gratitude, stating, “We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to L&Q and Trafford Council for their incredibly generous donation. Now, our students have their very own computer equipment, which will enable them to establish a solid foundation and gain confidence in our rapidly advancing digital world. This kind gesture will greatly benefit those who are studying for their GCSEs from home.”

Danny Sutherland, a Workplace Technologies Analyst at L&Q, emphasized the importance of online safety and confidence in education and the workplace. He said, “We are pleased to be able to support the students’ digital education as part of our ongoing investment into the lives of young people in our communities.”

Cllr Liz Patel, Executive Member for Economy and Regeneration at Trafford Council, expressed her gratitude, stating, “A huge thank you to L&Q for providing these laptops and to Trafford Council for their assistance in distributing them to the pupils at Broadoak School. It is crucial that all students have access to the internet.”

Trafford Council is dedicated to improving service delivery and ensuring easier digital access for residents. As part of their commitment, the Council has established a laptop lending scheme at local libraries, which also includes tablets, to allow individuals without their own devices to connect online. Additionally, all of Trafford’s Libraries are now Databanks, offering free SIM cards with a 6-month package of data, texts, and calls for residents who struggle to stay connected on-the-go.

As part of the latest initiative by L&Q and the Council, a number of residents across Trafford have also been provided with devices to help them access the internet.
