Stockport Chief Executive takes on abseil for Mayor’s Charity

Stockport Council’s Chief Executive, Caroline Simpson, is taking on the challenge of abseiling down Fred Perry House in central Stockport.

It’s all to raise money for the Mayor’s Charity partner, who this year has been chosen as Sector 3.

Caroline will take on the Fred Perry House building on 26th March. Stockport is lucky enough to have an estimated 1670 charity and volunteer groups, supporting all aspects of the community. These have been particularly invaluable during the pandemic in ensuring that Stockport residents are supported.

Sector 3 helps to support all these organisations, with the money donated to the Mayor’s Charity to be donated to Sector 3 to reinvest in a local volunteer centre for Stockport.

The Mayor of Stockport, Councillor Adrian Nottingham, commented: “Thank you to Caroline for taking on this abseil to raise money for the Mayor’s Charity – abseiling down Fred Perry House is no easy feat – I am impressed!

“Sector 3 play a vital role in supporting our wonderful voluntary and community organisations, who have been a lifeline for so many during the last two years. They provide a crucial resource for our charitable organisations. I thank everyone for their kind donations to the Mayor’s Charity this year, it really will make a difference to our flourishing third sector here in Stockport.”
