The Commission published draft proposals last year and a further round of consultation on these proposals concluded on 10th January 2022. The Boundary Commission have advised that their final recommendations will be published on the LGBCE website on 5th April 2022.
The Commission has agreed to retain the existing 21 wards and 3 councillors per ward. In the Commission’s draft recommendations the proposal was for 16 wards to have boundary changes with 5 remaining the same.
Proposed changes include:
• the creation of a Norbury ward as a result of the proposed abolition of Stepping Hill ward; and
• significantly different warding arrangements for the Cheadle and Cheadle Hulme areas based on the local evidence received.
However, the Commission takes into account the public feedback received as a part of the consultation, so these recommendations may change when the final recommendations are published on 5th April 2022.
