Socially-Distanced Gender Reveal: Rochdale Couple Hired A Plane

Coronavirus completely has changed the sort of celebrations. A couple who live in Shawclough hired a plane to fly over Hollingworth Lake for socially-distanced gender reveal with family members.

Donna and Matthew Wood that are both 34  hired the plane for the gender reveal of their first child who is a girl. The plane flew over Hollingworth Lake on Sunday.

Matthew said “: “We wanted to think of an idea that involved everyone safely really, so everyone could be a part of it. My wife and I did some brainstorming and came with the idea of the plane. It’s our first baby as well so it’s special.”

Matthew said it was also a surprise for his grandma Jean who was placed in Braeside Nursing Home following Covid’s diagnosis last March. He said “She had Covid very early in March last year, luckily enough she survived it. She ended up on ventilation at the hospital – it was touch and go at one point. It’s been terrible. She knows we’re having a child but she’s not been able to see us. We managed to drop her a card and one of the nurses told her.”
