A brand new skate park worth £180k has found its place in Clarence Park.

The long-awaited £180,000 wheeled sports park at Clarence Park is now finished and open for use.

Funded jointly by Bury Council (£106k) and Veolia Environment Trust (£74k), the new wheeled park caters to skateboarders, scooter riders, roller skaters, and BMX enthusiasts. Designed in collaboration with the local community and Friends of Clarence Park, the facility offers something for everyone, regardless of age or ability.

This project is part of a £350k investment programme aimed at enhancing the park and ensuring its continued success. Councillor Alan Quinn, cabinet member for the environment, climate change, and operations, expressed his pride in maintaining Clarence Park’s status as a top-notch public facility, which has held the prestigious Green Flag award for 18 consecutive years.

Featuring a variety of equipment such as manual pads, flat bars, ledges, jump boxes, and more, the Clarence Park wheeled park promises hours of fun for all who visit. The project was managed by Proffitts – Investing in Communities on behalf of Bury Council, with site works carried out by CANVAS. The council’s grounds maintenance team also played a role in enhancing the park by clearing vegetation at Miss Walker’s Field.
