Rises In Seven Boroughs Of Greater Manchester: 10% Increase In Infection Rate

The latest data for coronavirus showed that seven boroughs in Greater Manchester see rises this week. Rochdale still has the highest infection rate in the region.

According to the latest Public Health England data, the infection rate has risen in Rochdale, Tameside, Wigan, Oldham, Bolton, Stockport, and Manchester. The infection rate for Greater Manchester is now 98.5 per 100,000. The figure is still higher than the national average of 58.3.

125.9 with a 7% increase

Tameside

120.1 with a 16 % increase

Salford

106.2 with a 3 % decrease

Wigan

103.8 with an 8% increase

Oldham

103.7 with a 27% increase

Bolton

103.3 with an 8% increase

Stockport

99.5 with a 23% increase 

Manchester

93.9 with a 19% increase

Bury

73.3 with a 14% decrease

Trafford

54.8 with a 7% decrease

In the week ending March 14, a total of 2792 people tested positive for COVID-19. That means the cases have increased by 253 cases comparing the previous week’s data. A total 10% increase has been reported in the infection rates of Greater Manchester.
