Police stopped a man as he hadn’t face-mask, but he had a knife on him.

The man was wanted on recall to prison.

Police stopped a man because he hadn’t face-mask, but he had a knife on him.

Police found a knife on a man who wasn’t wearing a face mask on the Metrolink.

After being stopped by officers, police understood that he was wanted on recall to prison.

The man also tried to give false information to the police.

Police from the Greater Manchester Police Trafford Facebook page said: “#TransportUnit officers patrolling the #Metrolink in Trafford stopped a male earlier who was acting suspiciously and not wearing a face mask.

“He initially tried to trick officers by giving a friend’s details – unfortunately for him, his friend was #Wanted!

“On being searched, he was found in possession of a #knife.

“#FPN issued for breach of COVID legislation, arrested for recall and possession of a bladed article in a public place. #HatTrick”
