The Greater Manchester Police (GMP) is urgently seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the vandals responsible for causing damage to police vehicles.

In their efforts to apprehend the individual pictured, suspected of causing harm to a police vehicle on the 17th of July, 2023, the police have released stills from the CCTV footage.

This act of vandalism is just one of three distressing incidents that occurred within a span of 24 hours, leading to two police vehicles being taken out of service.

The first incident unfolded around 5:30 pm on Bury Road in Bolton. While a police vehicle maneuvered through slow-moving traffic, the officer noticed two males on electric bikes drawing close and gesturing. Subsequently, one of them approached the van from the outside and struck the wing mirror, causing considerable damage, before speeding away.

The second incident took place at approximately 9:30 pm at the Folds Road junction of Bury New Road in Bolton. During this troubling event, a male approached a stationary police vehicle and recklessly hurled a brick through the window, narrowly missing the passenger—a student officer.

The third distressing incident unfolded in the early hours of the following day, July 18th, 2023, around 4:10 am, near Bradford Street, close to Bromwich Street. A police officer responded to a concern for welfare call when he observed an individual on an electric bike approaching his unattended vehicle. Shockingly, the perpetrator yelled obscenities and proceeded to smash the rear window with a brick before speeding away down Bromwich Street.

Now, the police are earnestly seeking assistance from the public to identify these individuals responsible for these senseless acts of vandalism.
