Lingard being loaned to West Ham

United midfielder expected to leave for remainder of the season

Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard will likely be spending the rest of this season in London.

The Red Devils have agreed to loan the England international to West Ham.

Lingard previously rejected loan offers from Newcastle and West Brom.

The 28-year-old will get a medical done here in Manchester before joining David Moyes’ side.

With the re-emergence of Paul Pogba and the influence of Bruno Fernandes, Lingard has quickly fallen out of favour at Old Trafford.

Lingard has only three appearances in all competitions for United this season.

The total cost of the deal is around £3m considering the loan fee and Lingard’s wages.

The Reds triggered a one-year contract extension on Lingard recently.

That means his contract with the club expires in the summer of 2022.

The extension will help United protect his value ahead of a potential transfer.

In 133 top-flight appearances for United Lingard has 18 goals. (JSL).
