In Greater Manchester, the infection rate now stands at 63.3 per 100,000.
Scientists say that the increase in the infection rate in Bolton is caused by the Indian variant. Over the past week, more than 6000 people were vaccinated for coronavirus in the borough. But there is currently no reported dropping in the figures.

Manchester
The latest data showed that the infection rate in Manchester is 45.2 per 100,000 people. With a 22% increase in the infection rate, Manchester has the second-highest infection rate in Greater Manchester.
Rochdale
The infection rate in Rochdale is now 39.6. The number of cases has gone down by 13 % comparing the previous week.
Bury
73 coronavirus cases were recorded in Bury last week.With 97 % increase,the latest infection rate is 38.2 cases per 100,000 people.
Trafford
The latest infection rate is 37.1 in Trafford. The trend is up in the borough that there is 38% increase in the figures.
Wigan
A total of 112 cases were reported in Wigan last week. With a rise of 30%, the recent coronavirus infection rate is 34.1 per 100,000 people in the borough.
Stockport
Over the week ending May 15, a 16 % increase was reported for the coronavirus infection rate in Stockport. The infection rate in Stockport is now 32 per 100,000 people.
Tameside
There were 61 positive tests last week in Tameside. The number of cases is up 3 % and the infection rate is 26.9 in the borough.
Salford
Salford is one of the few boroughs in Greater Manchester that the trend in infection rate is down. The latest infection rate in Salford currently is 25.9 per 100,000 people.
Oldham
Oldham has the lowest infection rate in Greater Manchester. With a 31% decrease in the figures, the infection rate in Oldham is now 17.7 per 100,000 people.
