Kickstart your career at the Oldham Careers Fair

Mark your calendars! The Oldham Careers Fair is taking place on Tuesday 24th September, from 3pm to 6pm at Queen Elizabeth Hall in Oldham Town Centre.

Hosted by Oldham Council, this free event is an excellent opportunity for young people aged 15 to 25 who are looking to start their careers, find new job opportunities and enhance their skills.

Attendees will have the chance to connect with various organisations from across Oldham that are seeking talented local residents. Additionally, you can receive guidance and support on available training opportunities to help you advance your career.

If you’re unsure about your future, the event offers a chance to explore different career options across various sectors, providing valuable insights into potential career paths.

With over 40 businesses, education, training, and engagement providers in attendance, you can also attend inspiring talks on:  

  • Securing apprenticeships
  • Starting a legal career
  • Pursuing a career in the arts and culture sector  

Cllr Mohon Ali, Cabinet Member for Education and Skills, said: “I encourage young people seeking employment or those who want to explore opportunities in the borough to attend this free event. It’s a great chance to kickstart or change your career and gain first-hand knowledge from industry professionals. With our regeneration plans, including 2,000 new homes and a new theatre in Oldham, we’re attracting businesses, boosting the local economy, and creating more job opportunities.”

Confirmed employers include Action Together, NHS England, The Prince’s Trust, Oldham College, and many more. Just turn up on the day – no booking required!

The Queen Elizabeth Hall is conveniently located next to Oldham Bus Station, with pay-and-display parking available. It’s also just a 2-3 minute walk from the Oldham King Street Metrolink stop.

Get Oldham Working, Positive Steps and various support organisations will be present to offer guidance and support.
