Sexual Assault Of A Teenage Girl In Salford While She Was Making Her Way To School

Police launched an investigation after a teenage girl was sexually assaulted and robbed in Salford. The victim who is a 13-year-old girl was going to school when a man approached and initiated a conversation before assaulting her.

The incident happened at Peel Park in the Lower Broughton area of Salford. Police were called to the scene around 8.30 am yesterday with a report of a sexual assault and robbery.

Inıtial enquires established that a man approached the victim girl and tried to convince the girl to speak while she was walking to the school. Then, the man sexually assaulted, stole her mobile phone, and ran from the scene towards Chapel Street.

The girl wasn’t injured and she is being supported by specialist officers and partner agencies for terrific assault.

No arrests have been made, yet. The offender is described as a white man in his 20s and 30s with short ginger, blonde light coloured hair and is 6ft tall with a skinny build. At the incident, he is believed to have been wearing a plain blue-hooded top with a large front pocket and dark blue\black or black Adidas joggers.

Detective Inspector Chris Horsfield, of GMP’s Swinton CID, said: “This is a deeply concerning incident where a young girl has been randomly approached in broad daylight and subjected the victim to a horrific ordeal by an unknown man clearly with sinister intentions.”

“Our dedicated team of officers will be investigating a number of lines of enquiry which will seek to identify this man, and we are working with specialist partners to support the victim.”

“If anyone has any information at all about the identity of this man, please speak to the police. Even the smallest piece of information could help us to advance our investigation, find justice for the victim, and take this man off our streets.”
