Ederson could miss match with Chelsea

City keeper tests positive for COVID

Manchester City could be without their starting goalkeeper for tomorrow’s critical matchup with Chelsea.

On his Instagram account, Ederson confirmed he is self-isolating as the result of COVID.

Manager Pep Guardiola did say five City players were self-isolating due to positive COVID tests.

We know Gabriel Jesus and Kyle Walker are two of them.

Ederson’s started all 14 Premier League for his team this season keeping seven clean sheets.

If he can’t go Guardiola will likely turn to reserve keeper Zack Steffen.

The American has started three matches this season all wins in the Carabao Cup.

Ilkay Gundogan and Aymeric Laporte missed the early part of this season with the virus.

City’s match with Everton got postponed due to a spike of COVID-19 cases. (JSL)
