Digital City Festival returns for third year to reunite the industry for a vibrant celebration of digital innovation

2022 marks the third year of Digital City Festival, the five-day celebration of the digital industry across Greater Manchester, which will be one of the year’s first face-to-face events for the sector having gone virtual in 2021.

The festival is set to unite thousands of professionals at all levels across the city, for a full week of events targeted at the growing and thriving UK digital sector – to which all are welcome.

It kicks off on March 7th and runs until March 11th, featuring partner events, networking opportunities, social functions, launches and more.

Specialisms covered throughout the week will include social media, ecommerce, cyber security, smart cities, artificial intelligence, digital media, marketing, automation, robotics, VR & AR, and so much more.

The week launches with an official opening event introduced by Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham in MediaCity, bringing together influential local figures, event supporters and the press to mark the event series’ beginning and reveal its ambitions. Later in the week, MIDAS – Manchester’s inward investment agency – will sponsor the Leaders’ Reception, uniting city and industry leaders, international delegations to the festival, and more.

Digital City Festival’s central event, Digital City Expo, takes place on March 9th and 10th at Manchester Central. Thousands will congregate at the convention centre to network, collaborate and socialise, meeting industry leaders from across the marketing, tech and ecommerce sectors.

It will also feature talks from a range thought leaders – with speakers already announced including Gareth Turner, Head of Marketing at Weetabix; Dominique Elsey, Industry Marketing Strategist at Hootsuite; Phil Benson, Co-founder of UKBlackTech; Jessica Bowles, Director of Strategy at Bruntwood; and Ed Alford, Chief Technology Officer at New Look.

Registration is open now for the expo, which features two days of engaging content. Registration is free and provides access to the full two days of the event.

It will also feature a dedicated Career Zone as well as a special India Pavilion – showcasing high-growth tech companies from India that Lead Sponsor HOST is supporting.

The festival also includes the Digital City Awards, hosted at the Etihad Stadium on March 10th, judged by an illustrious panel including industry leaders from across the UK. They recognise those making a difference and building a better future through tech innovation.
Headline Partners at Digital City Festival are ecommerce specialist Fast, and marketing automation platform Klaviyo, which is also the awards’ Headline Sponsor. Lead Sponsors are Wunderkind, HOST and Hitachi Solutions. Badger & Combes, which brought the festival to life virtually in 2021, will be Official Digital Media Partner, while Pixite is LED Screen & Digital Signage Partner for the event.

In 2021, Digital City Festival was hosted in a truly digital format, broadcast to its online network from the state-of-the-art studios at MediaCity. This year, content will also be available via the Digital City Network as well as being hosted physically.
