Leigh Youth Hub marks its first year with a plethora of achievements

The Leigh Youth Hub in Leigh Sports Village is celebrating its first anniversary this week as it approaches 8,500 visitors. The facility, which opened its doors last February, offers a variety of services to support young people, families, and the wider community. Over 2,000 young people have attended the popular midweek open-access sessions, with over 500 signed up for the gym. The hub provides training opportunities, including courses in the fully-equipped catering kitchen, as well as a place for young people to socialise and relax. Councillor Jenny Bullen expressed her delight at the success of the hub, which has received over £2m in investment to improve the health, wellbeing, and job prospects of local young people. The future looks bright with plans for new activities in 2024, such as art therapy. The hub offers a range of facilities including a gym, sensory room, IT suite, conference room, and common room for activities like table tennis and arts and crafts. Follow Leigh Youth Hub on Facebook or Instagram for more information on opportunities at the hub.
