Another death after a car crash in Oldham

A woman has died after being hit by a car in Oldham.

The woman, in her 30s, was found in Lees road at around 2.40 am on September 20.

She was hospitalized with life-critical injures.

The woman couldn’t be saved and died on October 6.

Police said a white Vauxhall Corsa had struck the woman. The driver hadn’t stopped at the scene of the crash.

A man, 22-year-old, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He has been freed, but an investigation is underway.

Police wish to reach anyone who has information about the accident.

Sergeant Darren Hancock, from Greater Manchester Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Firstly, I would like to say that our thoughts have remained with the victim’s loved ones throughout what has been a devastating time for them.

“Our enquiries are ongoing, so I would like to use this opportunity to re-appeal to anyone with information or dash cam footage who has not already contacted us to do so as soon as possible,” added.
