One Trafford Partnership on the brink of finishing £5.1 million road upgrade scheme

The One Trafford Partnership is close to completing the 2023/24 highway improvement programme, with over 100 projects finished on Trafford’s road network. With an investment of £5.1 million, the programme has used various methods such as resurfacing, surface dressing, patching, and footways enhancement to enhance and safeguard Trafford’s main asset. Significant projects include Carrington Spur A6144, from the M60 Roundabout to Banky Lane, Atlantic Street, Charcoal Road, Irlam Road, and Norris Road.

During the 2023/24 programme, One Trafford, a collaboration between Trafford Council and Amey, completed around 283,210m² of highway works, equivalent to almost 40 football pitches. The partnership has also been working with Transport for Greater Manchester to improve bus stops in the borough, enhancing accessibility and connectivity.

Councillor Stephen Adshead, Executive Member for Highways, Environmental & Traded Services, commented on the programme: “Our highways are vital assets, and it is crucial that we use our expertise to maintain and improve their condition. This year’s investment of £5.1 million demonstrates our commitment to protecting our roads and extending their lifespan through advanced treatment methods.”

The One Trafford Partnership remains dedicated to providing high-quality environmental and infrastructure services, including highways, property management, street cleaning, and waste management. Plans are already underway for the next round of improvement works in 2024/25, with a focus on ensuring the safety, longevity, and upkeep of Trafford’s roads.
