After Collision In Clayton, A Pedestrian Has Died Tragically

Following a collision in Clayton on Sunday, a man has died. The collision happened at the junction of Clayton Street and Ashton New Road, Manchester.

Officers called to the scene around 6.50 am on Sunday 4 April for the report of the collision. Enquires established that a blue Seat Ibiza and a pedestrian had been in a collision. A 46-year-old man-the pedestrian – was taken to the hospital immediately.

Even with all efforts of the medical staff, the man died tragically at the hospital.No arrest has been made, yet.

Sergeant Matthew Waggett of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “First and foremost, our thoughts are very much with family and loved ones of the man who has sadly died this morning. Enquiries are currently ongoing to locate his next of kin.”

“We appeal to anyone who may have been in the area at the time of this collision to come forward and speak with police. We’re particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or is in possession of dash-cam footage from the area at the time.”
