Two people have been taken to the hospital after a ‘violent disturbance’ in Bolton.
There were machete-type weapons in the event last night.
A great number of police, including armed officers and the force helicopter, arrived upon the scene in Breightmet at around 10 pm.
Neighborhood residents called the police to report the ‘violent disturbance’ with machete types of weapons.
According to eyewitnesses, there was at least one man with stab injuries.
Besides, Greater Manchester Police confirmed the event. Two-man were hospitalized with injures. In addition to that, four men, aged 17, 18, 29, and 30, and one woman, 25-year-old, were arrested.
A BB gun and a quantity of class A drugs have been seized in the area.
Councilor Adele Warren said: “Obviously this was a deeply upsetting incident for the community.
“Police were called to numerous reports of a violent disturbance on Blair Lane, and specialist officers from the firearms team were deployed.
“Officially, I have been told that four men and one woman were taken into custody, and enquiries are in going by specialist officers.
“Two men have been taken to hospital for treatment for injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.”
In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said: “Shortly before 10 pm on Saturday 17 October 2020, police were called to numerous reports of a violent disturbance on Blair Lane, Bolton.
“Specialist officers attended and searched a number of properties on Aldercroft Avenue, Blair Lane, and New Lane.
“Four men, aged 17, 18, 29 and 30, and a 25-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. All remain in custody for questioning apart from one man who was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries. Another man, aged 31, was also taken to hospital for treatment.
An investigation is underway.
