A man was life-critically injured after a hit and run crash

"Do you have dash cam footage? Did you see anything prior to the collision? If so, please do not hesitate to get in touch.''

The accident took place in Stockport.

The pedestrian, 38-year-old, was walking on Manchester Road before the accident at around 10 pm.

The car fled the scene after the crash.

The car is most probably is a grey Volvo v40.

According to Greater Manchester Police, the victim’s injuries are life-changing ones.

The pedestrian has been immediately taken to the hospital with serious injures, but now, his medical condition is stable.

Police wish to reach the driver of the car. In addition, anyone who has information about the crash or has dash cam footage needs to come forward.

Detective Constable Ed Palmer, from Greater Manchester Police’s Stockport CID, said: “Firstly our thoughts are with the man and his family as he remains in hospital, nobody should be forced to go through what they are going through right now and we have specialist officers supporting them through this difficult time.

“We are making an urgent appeal to any witnesses who were in the area in and around the time of the collision and saw anything that may be of use to our investigations team and us.

“Do you have dash cam footage? Did you see anything prior to the collision? If so, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

“We are very much keeping an open mind and would make a direct plea to anyone who may have been involved, or has the slightest bit of information, to do the right thing and come forward.”
