A man has died due to a house fire in Stockport.
Police and fire department were called following a fire at a house on Windermere Road in Heaviley on Tuesday night.
Paramedics inside the property found the body of a man at around 9 pm.
A 64-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder.
An investigation is underway of the fire.
A large police cordon surrounding five houses – including the property affected by the fire – remains in place this afternoon.

Detective Chief Inspector Gina Brennand said: “Very sadly, we can confirm that last night’s fire has led to the death of a man.
“Specialist officers are supporting the man’s family at this distressing time, and our thoughts remain with them.
“While we have arrested a woman in connection with this incident, we would continue to appeal to anyone with information to contact officers.

Police officers haven’t reached any details about the man’s age and identity yet.
