Today (October 21), a car caught fire on a major road in Bury town center.
Fire services were immediately called to the scene at Bolton Road at 11.25 am on Wednesday. (October 21)
According to footage from the scene, a red Vauxhall Corsa caught fire.
After fire services arrived upon the scene, the road was closed in both ways for approximately 20 minutes to keep the fire under control.
No one in the event was injured, and according to the fire service, there weren’t any ‘suspicious circumstances.’
Watch manager at Whitefield Fire Station Steve Coot said: “The driver did the right thing.
“They smelled something burning, so pulled over and got out of the vehicle.
“The car was fully involved in flames when we got there.
“We had to close the road for about 20 minutes but worked quickly to reopen it.”
