Throughout the festive season, you can still make applications, report issues, and make payments online. However, please note that these may not be processed until 27 December.

Health and wellbeing services

  • Flu

    It is not too late to protect yourself and your family against the flu. For information on flu vaccinations, visit www.nhs.uk.

  • Pharmacies

    Pharmacy opening hours on Christmas Day (Monday 25 December 2023), Boxing Day (Tuesday 26 December 2023), and New Year’s Day (Monday 1 January 2024). 

Other pharmacies may be open, but they have not informed NHS Greater Manchester.

Mental health and wellbeing support

The festive period can be a challenging time for many individuals, but it is important to remember that you are not alone. There are various services available that can provide assistance and support for both your physical and emotional wellbeing, offering positive steps to help take care of yourself.

Bin collections

Discover the dates for your Christmas and New Year bin collections and what to do if your bin collection has been missed or delayed.   

Get advice on how to handle your bins and household waste during the festive season, including what can and cannot be recycled. 

Winter Service (gritting)

Our Winter Service team will be on standby throughout the festive season. They will be monitoring the weather forecast and gritting all the roads and streets on our designated gritting routes when road temperatures are predicted to drop below freezing.  

Rough sleeping

If you come across someone who appears to be rough sleeping this Christmas, Bolton Council’s rough sleeping team is available to help.   

You can anonymously share a description of the person and their specific location by emailing [email protected] or by calling the Housing Options Services on 01204 335 900.
