A 17-year-old boy has died after a car crashed into a taxi in a police pursuit. Greater Manchester Police said that officers pursued the car after the car ran a red light and the driver of it didn’t stop for them.
After police pursuit, the car crashed into a taxi at 3.45 am on March 31 in Chorlton, Manchester. Two passengers, a 17-year-old boy, and 18-year-old men were taken to the hospital with serious and life-threatening injuries. A 17-year-old boy has died at the hospital on Tuesday.18year old man is still in hospital but with a non-life-threatening condition.
A 19-year-old man was arrested for causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop by police. He has been released while under investigation
Chief Superintendent Wasim Chaudhry said: “Our thoughts remain with the family of the boy who has sadly lost his life, and all those affected by this incident. We are fully cooperating with the independent investigation by the IOPC, and it will therefore not be appropriate to comment any further at this time.”
